The Pakistani government has requested a formal security guarantee in order to permit their cricket team's participation in the World Cup 2023. A 14-member committee deliberated on the Pakistan Cricket Team's visit to its neighbours. While the date and location of the IND vs. PAK match have been agreed upon.

The PAK government has requested guarantees from both the Cricket Governing Body and the Indian Cricket Board. This comes after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's high-profile committee convened on Thursday 3rd August. The pledge was led by Pakistan's Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto. The committee will send its recommendations to the PM, who will make the final call on World Cup 2023 participation.

Pakistan's World Cup games rescheduled

Pakistan's World Cup schedule is also anticipated to alter since the dates of two of their games are subject to change. According to Indian Cricket Board Secretary Jay Shah, and 2-3, full members have voiced reservations about the timetable, hence modest alterations will be made. It has been revealed that Pakistan's game against Sri Lanka.

"The committee is expected to recommend that a high-level security delegation be sent to India to visit all the venues where the Pakistan team is scheduled to play its World Cup matches and review all the security and other arrangements," a source close to the committee said. The two countries have not engaged in bilateral cricket since 2012-13 and the last Test series was held in India in 2007.

The game was initially scheduled for October 12th but has been moved to October 10th at the same location in Hyderabad, while the game against India has been moved from October 15th to October 14th in Ahmedabad. Both the Cricket Governing Body and the Indian Cricket Board have communicated the revisions to the PCB, which has apparently been accepted.

The source added that in principle, there was no objection to Pakistan playing in India, but the committee wanted assurance that the players, officials, fans and media would not face any problems. With less than a few months left for the World Cup, all the teams are in readiness for cricket's grandest event to start.
