In what seems to be a big blow for the Indian team, star middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer might undergo surgery and is speculated to miss the entire season of the Indian T20 League 2023. Subsequently, he could also miss the much-anticipated Test Championship 2023 final. He had a serious issue with his lower back injury.
Recently, he was also ruled out of the ongoing three-match ODI series against Australia due to the same injury. Meanwhile, a section of Indian cricket fans reacted with a lot of divided reactions following this news; they took to Twitter to come up with some interesting tweets and responses on Iyer’s injury.
Here’s how fans reacted:

Bumrah, Pant and now Shreyas. Team India getting huge blows ahead of the WTC final is so distressing. I hope we manage to do wonders and win it this time.

A source close to Iyer and the Indian Cricket Board also talked about the surgery of the star Kolkata batter and skipper.
"Iyer has been advised to go for surgery. He is keen to get operated on by a specialist in London, but if there is a decent option in India, then the surgery could take place here also," said the source to the Times of India.
Talking about Team India, they are currently in action in the ongoing third and last of the three-match ODI series against the Aussies. Earlier, the visitors outplayed Team India in the second ODI of the series by a massive margin of 10 wickets to level the series by a margin of 1-1.
Prior to that, Rohit Sharma’s men had defeated the Australians in the four-match Test series by a margin of 2-1. The hosts won the first two Tests in Nagpur and Delhi consecutively to gain the unassailable lead of 2-0 followed by a nine-wicket defeat in the Indore Test.
Coming back to Shreyas Iyer, his form might be a big concern for the men in blue regarding their issues with the middle order given the fact that it is the World Cup year.
