Former legendary South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis has made a big prediction while speaking about the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. He predicted the leading run-scorer in the tournament. The former legend represented the Proteas at the highest level of the game in 166 Tests, 328 ODIs, and 25 T20Is.
Notably, the marquee international tournament will commence on the 5th of October with the tournament opener between the defending champions England and the runners-up of the last edition, New Zealand. Both teams will take on each other in the inaugural clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

He made these comments in a conversation with the Apex Cricket Council in the wake of the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. The greatest all-rounder of all time predicted that the England skipper and star batter Jos Buttler would be the one leading the run-scoring charts of the 13th edition of the World Cup.
"I think Jos Butler will be the leading run-scorer. An outside call, but I fancy him in those conditions. Along with England having a good World Cup, I think, um, me, he's going to be the one guy that stands up," said Kallis on the official channel of cricket’s governing body.
Buttler has represented England in 165 ODIs, scoring 4,647 runs, including 11 centuries and 24 half-centuries with the willow. He has a good amount of experience of playing in the Indian conditions, including his appearance in the Indian Premier League for the Rajasthan Royals franchise.
Speaking of the prediction by Jacques Kallis about Buttler being the leading run-scorer in the tournament, it went on to divide the cricket fans into multiple opinions as they reacted to the same on social media. Some of the fans did not agree with Kallis as they felt it would not be an easy task for Buttler to become the leading run-scorer as he is a middle-order batter for The Three Lions.
