Team India are currently preparing for the upcoming 20-20 World Cup in Australia. However, all World Cup-bound players reached there after playing the T20I series against Australia and South Africa at home. But, Deepak Chahar did not travel with the squad despite getting selected as one of the stand-by players. The Indian pacer last played in the third T20I against South Africa in Indore.
Then, he was in the Indian squad for the three-match ODI series against the Proteas. But, he did not play a single game as Chahar got ruled out due to an ankle injury. Now, reports are suggesting that he is not going to be a part of the World Cup. However, injuries have been creating issues for Deepak Chahar for a long time. So, an old post of his sister, Malti Chahar went viral where she advised her brother to take care of his back injury post his marriage.
Here is the viral post:

“Please take care of your back during your honeymoon..we have World Cup ahead” - Malti Chahar wrote for Deepak Chahar
Deepak Chahar tied the knot with Jaya Bhardwaj at a private ceremony in Agra on 1 June 2022. His sister Malti Chahar shared a message along with a beautiful, charming image of her with the newly married couple on 3 June. Post’s caption said: “Ab ladki hui humari….Wish you guys a very happy married life@deepak_chahar9 please take care of your back during your honeymoon..we have the World Cup ahead #family #brother #marriage #siblings.”
During that time, Deepak Chahar was nursing a back injury which ruled him out of the Indian T20 League 2022. He sustained that injury at NCA during his rehab session for his earlier quadricep tear injury. So, Malti Chahar reminded Deepak to take care of his back as the 20-20 World Cup was near. After that injury, Deepak Chahar finally made his international comeback during the ODI series in Zimbabwe.
Then, selectors went with him as one of the stand-by players for the Asia Cup 2022. However, he replaced Avesh Khan and played one match against Afghanistan in the tournament. Then, he last played in the third T20I against the Proteas. But, on the eve of the first ODI, he twisted his ankle and it ruled him out of the series. As Jasprit Bumrah got ruled out of the mega event, he was the front-runner to replace him. But, as per reports, this fresh injury will prevent him to play in the World Cup. Board will consider Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and Shardul Thakur for selection.
