Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals locked horns in the 44th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. The DC skipper David Warner won the toss and decided to bat first but their batting lineup failed miserably against the Gujarat bowling attack led by the senior pacer Mohammed Shami.
Batting first, Delhi Capitals could manage somehow to post a total of 130 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Later on, in utter shock to everyone including both the cricket fans and the experts, they beautifully defended after bowling entire 20 overs in the second innings and won the match by a very close margin of five runs.
Subsequently, the fans were also thrilled following this amazing win of Delhi Capitals in a low-scoring encounter against the table toppers Gujarat Titans. They immediately took to Twitter and came up with a lot of interesting reactions and responses in the aftermath of the match praising DC’s performance and also trolling the GT skipper Hardik Pandya for taking the chase too deep that eventually happened to cost them the match.
Here's how fans reacted:
Last team at the table beats the top team at the table. That's the beauty of No. 1 T20 league#GTvDC

This overconfident guy almost managed to do the same against Pakistan in that WC game but there was Virat Kohli to save his ass & here too Rahul Tewatia almost saved him but Ishant Sharma denied that.#GTvDC
So delightful to see our veteran one pulling off the game so heroically. Hats off Ishant Sharma!#ishantsharma #GTvDC

Talking about the entire action of the match, the veteran Gujarat Titans’ pacer Mohammed Shami completely rattled the entire top and middle order of the Delhi Capitals’ batting lineup. He scalped four wickets by conceding only 11 runs in his spell of four overs. At one moment, the visitors were in serious trouble when they lost their five wickets only on the score of 23 runs in five overs.
Later on, lower middle-order batter Aman Hakim Khan scored a very crucial half-century and contributed 51 runs with three boundaries and three sixes to take his team to a total of 130 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the first innings.
Later on, while, defending the target, the Delhi Capitals’ bowling consisting of senior pacers like Ishant Sharma and Anrich Nortje restricted the defending champions to a total of 125 runs for the loss of six wickets in the entire 20 overs; eventually, DC won the match by 5 runs to register their third victory in the tournament.
Ishant Sharma and Khaleel Ahmed scalped two wickets each alongside one wicket each by Anrich Nortje and Kuldeep Yadav.
