Pakistan have announced their 15-member squad for the upcoming 20-20 World Cup. Babar Azam will shoulder the responsibility of leading the team while Shadab Khan will travel as the Vice-captain for Men in Green.

Asia Cup 2022 top scorer Mohammad Rizwan has retained his place in the squad on the back of his sensational performance. The biggest news of the squad announcement however is certainly Fakhar Zaman having been dropped for the World Cup. The aggressive opener sustained an injury at the Asia Cup which is why he has not been included in the team. He has also been dropped from the upcoming T20I series against England. He has however been named in the reserves for the  World Cup.

Shaheen Shah Afridi who missed the Asia Cup with a knee ligament injury makes his way into the team after achieving full fitness. Naseem Shah who hit two back-to-back sixes against Afghanistan in the Super Four has also been awarded a place for his good performance at the continental tournament.

Mohammad Hasnain who was playing in The Hundred prior to being named for the Asia Cup has also found a place in the team. Hassan Ali however loses his place due to poor performance at the Asia Cup. Shan Masood has also been included in the team.

The board has also announced the squad for the upcoming seven-match T20I series against England.
