India's wicketkeeper, Rishabh Pant, has made significant progress in his fitness as he continues his recovery at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru following a horrible automobile accident in December 2022. He has now started batting in the nets and is facing 140 kph balls in the nets during practice.

Pant was in a near-fatal accident last year and sustained wounds to his forehead, tore a ligament in his right knee, and injured his right wrist, ankle, and toe. He had abrasions on his back as well. Moving his body bigger and quicker is still a long way off for 25-year-old Rishabh, but medical personnel and trainers are sure that he will do it in the coming months. Rishabh's remarkable recovery has surprised everyone.

Will Rishabh Pant be back for World Cup?

According to the reports, Pant has no difficulty taking down faster deliveries and is at ease with minor moves. He has also begun to keep wickets with less zeal. However, he still has some time to adjust to greater and faster bodily motions. The Delhi Capitals captain has been putting updates on social media about his recovery process which has been fantastic for his fans. The 25-year-old had started taking throwdowns last month.

An NCA source stated, "Rishabh is in good health. He has started batting at more than 140 kph. We are all delighted with the way he is overcoming every obstacle in his recovery. His next target will be to focus on quick body movements, which we aim to achieve in the next few months."

Meanwhile, all eyes are on KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer's recovery. Both players have begun batting in the nets. While neither is fully healthy, they are close to it and will play essential roles for India in the forthcoming ODI World Cup in October-November. There are rumours that Rahul would be available for the Asia Cup, which will be held in August-September, but the credit cannot yet be claimed.
