According to reports, Pat Cummins, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell might not be fit to play before the start of the Cricket World Cup in India next month. They all have been named in the provisional 15-man squad for the tournament that will be finalized later this month. The players are currently out from the current limited-overs tour of South Africa.
Captain Cummins is recovering from a fractured hand sustained in the recent Ashes series in England, while Smith has a wrist injury, Maxwell has an ankle injury, and Starc is suffering from groin problems and is also under injury clouds. 8 of the 15 players in the provisional squad also featured in the 2019 tournament. The five-time champions will definitely hope that their important players come back before the World Cup.

Australian selection committee chairman George Bailey said "Pat Cummins, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell are on track in their return to play programs. "There are eight one-day matches still to play in South Africa and India before the final squad is due to be declared. They are followed by two World Cup practice games, which offers plenty of opportunity to continue the build for the tournament."
Mitchell Marsh has been seen as an option to open in place of the retired Aaron Finch, but he said Warner and Travis Head as the clear candidates to face the new ball in India. He stated, I expect to bat middle order." "Things may change, but Davey is literally one of the GOATs

It's simply now That AIS are not gonna enter into semi finals even
Gonna end up at League stage itself
They won't play bilaterals which will help them get ready for WC.. Imo a good decision afterall WC is what matters the most.
