Paris Saint Germain are looking for a complete overhaul of the team after a disappointing campaign where they once again failed to make it past the Round of 16 stage of the Champions League. They would be looking to bolster the squad but at the same time it would also mean that some big name players will be departing the club. PSG have some of the biggest names in the football world and their players are almost always linked with some club or the other whenever the transfer window comes around.
According to reports, Neymar has no plans to leave Paris Saint-Germain to any other team this summer and is focused on joining Manchester United. The club is looking to start over following years of Champions League failure, therefore the 31-year-old's stay in Paris appears to be approaching an end. The club is trying to sell Neymar in the summer as a result of the rocky relationship he has had with PSG's fans over the last couple of years, as well as injuries and advancing age.
The Brazilian, with just four years left on his lucrative deal, is reportedly solely interested in moving to Old Trafford. The Red Devils are rumoured to be searching for a new forward, with Erik ten Hag acknowledging that they lack a goal threat other than Marcus Rashford. Having scored 118 goals over 173 appearances for PSG, he can undoubtedly deliver on that.
The man who is still the most costly player in football history would not be cheap, though. Neymar reportedly makes close to £1 million a week, so joining United would need him to accept a sizable pay reduction. He is rumoured to be at odds with the PSG management after the forward chose to be at the Monaco Grand Prix instead of the French champions' championship celebrations.
The 31-year-old player has been receiving therapy ever since suffering a season-ending injury to the ankle in March, but he was anticipated to take part in Saturday night's 1-1 draw between PSG and Strasbourg, which allowed them to clinch the Ligue 1 championship. The attacker shocked the football world when he decided to transfer from Barcelona to Paris for a record-breaking £198 million, but he has been unable to justify the astronomical amount.
