Cricketers today enjoy unparalleled fame on social media as well as in real life. A more connected world means that cricketers’ lives are laid bare for everyone to see. Yuzvendra Chahal is one such player who often uses social media to connect with his fans and have a good time in general.
His wife, Dhanashree Verma who is a famous dancer and choreographer also has a huge online presence. Their marriage has so far been incredibly successful as they keep posting positive and funny stuff together. Chahal is also very popular in cricketing circles and is often found cracking jokes with not just his teammates but also opponent players.
While things were going smoothly, it suddenly took an unexpected turn. Chahal recently posted an Instagram story with a picture that says, “New life loading”.
Elsewhere, Dhanashree changed her surname from ‘Chahal’ to ‘Verma’ on Instagram creating what is now one of the biggest stories in Bollywood and Indian cricket circles. Naturally, people on social media started to chatter about this cryptic move from both these celebrities.
At first, people thought that the celebrity duo is going to announce the birth of their new child. Dhanashree’s change in surname, however, changed the narrative from the birth of a child to divorce.
Now many on Twitter are saying that Dhanashree and Chahal are going to divorce each other. Earlier, Dhanashree posted a picture with Suryakumar Yadav, his wife and Shreyas Iyer. This has also put Iyer in the firing line of the Twitter users who now claim that Iyer and Dhanashree would go the same route as Murali Vijay and Nikita.
Let’s look at how Twitter reacted to the whole fiasco:
No one knew Dhanashree before and she got married to Chahal, she was Chahal's wife to everyone and she is famous now she got what she needed. So suck it up 🤲

There were many misogynistic and sexist jokes made about the relationship and this new development. Some were rightfully called out as well.
Woman bringing woman down and for what? Some validation from internet misogynists? FYI everyone doesn't watch sports either. So many people including me, knew Dhanashree and not Chahal. What a sick new tradition to comment on a couple's existent/nonexistent issues based on sns 🤦 https://t.co/tB3ibBwBpJ

This Chahal-Dhanashree related tweets “who deserves better” on my TL seem so baseless & stupid.
Chahal represents India at International level,it’s huge. They both consciously decided to get married to eachother. What works or doesn’t work in a marriage, who knows other than 1/n— Nirdayi✨ (@Nirdayiii) August 18, 2022
Chahal has today come out and asked everyone to not believe any rumors in his Instagram story. He wrote, "A huble request to you all to not believe in any sort of rumors pertaining to our relationship. Kindly. Put an end to it. Love and light to everyone."
