This knock came in the inaugural season of the Indian T20 League in 2008. It was the first match of the tournament that took place in Bengaluru. The Bangalore franchise won the toss and asked the Kolkata franchise to bat first. While batting first, they scored 222 runs for three wickets in 20 overs.
Brendon McCullum scored 158* runs off 73 balls, including 10 fours and 13 sixes. He batted at a strike rate of 216.43. In reply, the home side got bundled out for just 82 runs in 15.1 overs. Hence, the Kolkata franchise won the match by 140 runs. McCullum won the player of the match award for that monstrous knock.
Chris Gayle 175* runs, 2013
This blistering knock came in the 2013 edition of the Indian T20 League. It was the 31st match of that edition that took place in Bengaluru. The Pune franchise won the toss and asked the Bangalore franchise to bat first. They put up a mammoth total of 263 runs for five wickets in 20 overs.
Chris Gayle was the star of the show as he scored 175* runs off 66 balls. He hit 13 fours and 17 sixes at a strike rate of 265.15. In reply, the Pune franchise scored 133 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs. Thus, the home side won the match by 130 runs while Gayle won the player of the match award for that knock.
David Miller 101* runs, 2013
This fantastic knock came in the 2013 edition of the Indian T20 League. It was the 51st match of that edition that took place in Mohali. The Punjab franchise won the toss and asked the Bangalore franchise to bat first. They scored 190 runs for three wickets in 20 overs while Chris Gayle was the highest scorer with 61 runs off 33 balls.
In reply, the Punjab franchise were in trouble after losing four wickets for 64 runs in 9.5 overs. But, David Miller scored 101* runs off 38 balls, including eight fours and seven sixes. His knock ensured that his team chased down the target in just 18 overs. Thus, they won the match by a margin of six wickets. Miller won the player of the match award.
Suresh Raina 87 runs, 2014
This outrageous knock came in the 2014 edition of the Indian T20 League. It was qualifier two of that edition that took place in Wankhede, Mumbai. The Chennai franchise won the toss and asked the Punjab franchise to bat first. While batting first, they scored 226 runs for six wickets in 20 overs.
In reply, Chennai were in trouble after losing Faf du Plessis on the second delivery of the innings only. Then, Suresh Raina scored 87 runs off 25 balls, including 12 fours and six over-boundaries. He batted at a strike rate of 348. However, his knock was not enough as Chennai lost the match by 24 runs.
AB de Villiers 79* runs, 2016
This knock came in the 2016 edition of the Indian T20 League. It was qualifier one of that edition that took place in Bengaluru. The Bangalore franchise won the toss and asked the Gujarat franchise to bat first. While batting first, they scored 158 runs in 20 overs. Dwayne Smith scored 73 runs off 41 balls, including five fours and six over-boundaries.
In reply, the Bangalore franchise were in deep trouble when they lost five wickets for 29 runs in 5.3 overs. But, AB de Villiers remained calm and scored 79* runs off 47 balls, including five fours and five sixes. Thus, the Bangalore franchise won the match by four wickets with 10 balls to spare.
