Afghanistan leggie Rashid Khan has reached another milestone in his international career. The Afghanistan spinner has gone past New Zealand's Tim Southee in terms of wickets in the shortest format.
In the game against Bangladesh in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022, he picked three wickets and with that, he went past Southee's tally of 114 wickets. Now, Khan has 115 wickets to his name and is only behind Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan, who has 122 wickets to his name.

Rashid Khan made his international debut in an ODI game against Zimbabwe in October 2015. A few days later, he made his T20I debut against the same opposition. In the 50-over format, he has played 83 games and has 158 scalps to his name at an average of 18.65 and a strike rate of 26.8.
He is also a useful batter in the lower order, having amassed 1114 runs at an average of 21.01. Talking about his batting numbers in T20Is, the right-hander has 229 runs to his name. The 23-year-old is one of the most sought-after players in the T20 leagues across the globe.
He has played in the Pakistan Super League, Caribbean Premier League, Indian T20 League, Bangladesh Premier League, etc. In the T20s outside of International cricket, he has played 354 games and has 475 wickets to his name.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan have become the first team to qualify for the Super Four in the ongoing Asia Cup. They thrashed Sri Lanka to start their campaign and then went on to beat Bangladesh to progress to the next stage.
Now, either Sri Lanka or Bangladesh can qualify for the next round. They will play each other in the Group A clash on September 1 in Dubai. The winner will advance to the next round while the loser will have to return home.
