India is all set to host Sri Lanka for a T20 and a Test series later this month. While the final squads for the series have not been announced, it has been reported that Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah might return for the series. Virat Kohli is likely to miss out on the T20 matches.
Ravindra Jadeja suffered from an injury during the series against New Zealand last year. As stated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Jadeja was in the final stages of his rehab before the start of the series against the West Indies. He was recovering in the National Cricket Academy.
According to Cricbuzz, Jadeja has landed in Lucknow where the first T20 will be played on the 24th of February. It has been reported that he is under quarantine in a hotel to be available for the series if selected.
Along with him, Jasprit Bumrah is also set to return to the team. He was rested along with Mohammad Shami for the series against West Indies. Virat Kohli can take a rest for the T20 series but should be back for the Test series. The first Test match at Mohali will be his 100th match.
The squad for the series is likely to be announced in a day or two. The next Test skipper after Virat Kohli will also be announced with the squad. Reports suggest that Rohit Sharma will take charge of the Test team as well.
Meanwhile, India is playing a white-ball series against West Indies. India whitewashed the Windies in the ODI matches, and have taken a one-match lead in the T20 series.
