Former Chennai captain Ravindra Jadeja was injured during the game against Bangalore on May 4th. Due to which, he then had to skip the match against Delhi. To make matter worse, he has been ruled out of the Indian T20 League 2022 on medical advice.

However, many have opined that there is a dispute between the star all-rounder and the franchise. Notably, Chennai's official Instagram account recently unfollowed Jadeja, adding to the debate. Many have suspected a rift was growing between the franchise and one of its most devoted players.

Team CEO Kasi Viswanathan dismissed all rumours, and ridiculed the possibility of a rift between the two. He added that the medical team recommended Jadeja to skip the tournament and that he will always be in Chennai's plans in the future.

"Jaddu had an injury during the game against Bangalore, and after that, he didn’t play the game against Delhi. On medical advice, it has been decided that he cannot participate further in this ITL, and he is heading back home. He has been released," said Kasi Vishwanath, as quoted by Sports Tiger.

He also said that he is clueless about what is going on with social media, and rarely uses them. "Social media, I do not follow anything. I do not know what is going on there. I can tell you that from the management side, there has been no problem, and whatever is there on social media, I’m not aware," he said.

Ravindra Jadeja was appointed as Chennai's captain ahead of the 15th edition of the tournament. However, the men in yellow did not have the best run under him. They lost six of their eight games under his leadership. Thus, he handed the captaincy back to MS Dhoni to pay more attention to his game.

To qualify for the playoffs, Chennai must now win all of their remaining games. Additionally, if either Bangalore or Rajasthan win one more game, Chennai will be eliminated from the tournament. They currently stand ninth on the points table with four wins in 11 games.
