On 14 December 2022, the first Semi-final of the ongoing FIFA World Cup will take place in Lusail Stadium. Lionel Messi’s Argentina locked horns with Luka Modric’s Croatia in a high-voltage clash. Apart from these teams, defending champions, France and Morocco are the other teams to get qualified for the semi-finals.
However, Brazil failed to qualify for the semi-finals as they lost to Croatia in the penalty shootout. Now, Brazil’s legend Ronaldo came out with his prediction regarding the winner of this ongoing tournament. However, Ronaldo stated that he was expecting to see a Brazil vs France final at the World Cup.
“Brazil is gone, and France right now is the big favorite.” - Ronaldo
In an interview with AS, Ronaldo said that as Brazil have been eliminated, France is the favorite now to win the title this time around. He said: “My prediction was always a Brazil-France final. Brazil is gone, and France right now is the big favorite. Mbappé is having a great World Cup. He has incredible physical and technical qualities. He may be the best player. He has a natural talent and at 23 years old, the experience of having won a World Cup."
Speaking about Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima, commonly known as Ronaldo or Ronaldo Nazário won two FIFA World Cups for his country in 1994 and 2002 respectively. Recently, while speaking to the media at a roundtable in Doha, Ronaldo picked Kylian Mbappe over Lionel Messi to be the best player at this World Cup.
"I can talk about how fast he is, how good he is and he reminded me of when I played. He knows how to use his ability, and how to go faster than the other players and use that ability to assist or score. I think France is the favorite team now to win the World Cup. I said that before the World Cup starts and, for me, Mbappe is going to be the best player at this World Cup," Ronaldo concluded.
