On 2 November 2022, team India locked horns with Bangladesh in Adelaide in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup. Both teams were coming off after winning two out of their first three matches in the tournament. So, both India and Bangladesh were looking to win this game to strengthen their position in the group.

Speaking of the match, Rohit Sharma did not win the toss. Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and asked India to bat first. However, the Men in Blue only made a single change in the playing XI. They brought back Axar Patel in the place of Deepak Hooda from the last match. For India, skipper Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul came out to open.

Rohit Sharma failed again as he scored only two runs off eight balls. Then, KL Rahul finally managed to score fifty in this tournament. He lost his wicket on 50 runs off 32 balls, including three fours and four sixes. Rahul also batted at a strike rate of 156.25. After that, Virat Kohli showed his class once again as he scored 64* runs off 44 balls. He hit eight fours and one six in his innings, at a strike rate of 145.45. Thus, India managed to score 184 runs for six wickets in 20 overs. For Bangladesh, Hasan Mahmud took three wickets for 47 runs in his four overs.

In reply to the chase, Bangladeshi openers started at a quick speed. Bangladesh were flying as they scored 66 runs in seven overs. Then, the rain came and the match got stopped. But, the match got started after some time. However, Shakib Al Hasan was not looking so happy as the outfield of the ground seemed to be wet enough to play. Still, the match got resumed to 16 overs and got resumed. Bangladesh managed only 145 runs in 16 overs as India won the rain-threaded match by five runs. After the match, fans also started to blame the Indian Cricket Board as the match got completed despite heavy rain.
