'Sahi bole anna' - Fans react to Ravichandran Ashwin's 'If your favourite is not in the squad, just not degrade others' statement

The veteran Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin has come up with a big statement while talking about the reaction of Indian cricket fans on the selection or omission of their favourite players from the major international tournaments. He also advised fans to keep IPL aside while heading to the big tournaments.

Ashwin made this statement on his YouTube channel. He said that whenever the Indian players appear in any international tournament, they’re representing just one colour of India, not any IPL franchise or any state cricket entity.

“When you get into the World Cup, we should see all our players as representatives of India – once IPL gets over, put a cloth, and move on & once the player plays for India, accept he did well in IPL – so if your favourite is not in the squad, just not degrade others,” said Ashwin in a video on his YouTube channel.

Furthermore, the 36-year-old also spoke about the selection of the World number T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav in the ODI squad of India for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. Notably, SKY is yet to decode the 50-over format, but Ashwin felt that the selectors might have considered the 32-year-old’s current batting form, which may not be a point of agreement for a lot of Indian cricket fans.

“Surya has that X-factor and that’s why the team is backing him to come good in the ODI format as well”, said Ashwin. He also added, “Of course, if you want to have a for and against debate for dropping or selecting a player, you can have a healthy debate,” said Ashwin.

Coming back to Ashwin’s statement on India’s World Cup squad and the reaction of cricket fans over the same, it attracted a lot of praising remarks for the veteran cricketer from a section of the cricket fans, they lauded Ashwin for his team spirit and always being vocal for the interest of India.

Upto the extent Aswin is right because World Cup is a genuine pressure cooker for players, they have to keep nation and fans intrest at the above.
