Pakistan Cricket Board was on the receiving end of harsh criticism and brutal trolling from Pakistan cricket fans. It all happened after the PCB released a celebratory video on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day on the 14th of August, remembering some glorious achievements of the Pakistan Cricket Team and Pakistan players in the nation’s cricketing history of more than 70 years.

What triggered fans was the omission of the former legendary cricketer and the 1992 World Cup-winning skipper Imran Khan. Notably, the 1992 World Cup winner also served as Pakistan's Prime Minister before his government was toppled by an alliance of opposition parties, bringing a no-confidence motion against him last year.

Merit and justice together will bring prosperity to Pakistan: Imran Khan

Recently, a pre-recorded Independence Day message was also issued from Imran Khan and his party Pakistan Tehreeq-e-Insaf (PTI). In this message, Khan said that it’s the time for Pakistanis to struggle for Justice and equality.

"Pakistan was a dream of Allama Iqbal and Mohammad Ali Jinnah (Pakistan's founder), whose entire struggle was to liberate the Muslims of (undivided) India by establishing a state like Medina whose leaders ruled over the world," said Imran Khan, who is currently prisoned in Attock Jail after getting convicted in a case of corruption.

“They dreamed of such a Pakistan where the most important thing was justice and equality and the law protected the weaker section of the society from the powerful people. Merit and justice together will bring prosperity to Pakistan. No matter wherever you go, you won't find a place better than Pakistan. So, let's make this country better by struggling together for Pakistan's independence (from the claws of injustice and inequality),” he added.

Coming back to Khan’s cricket glory, he was one of the finest all-rounders of all time who ever played the game of cricket. He led the Men in Green in the 1992 World Cup to a glorious finish as they won the title after defeating England in the final.

The omission of Imran Khan from PCB’s congratulatory video didn’t go down well with the Pakistan cricket fans. They lashed out at the Cricket Board for denying Khan’s efforts for Pakistan cricket.
