On 13 November 2022, Pakistan’s journey in the 20-20 World Cup came to an end after a defeat in the final against England. All fans were hoping to see Babar Azam and his men holding the trophy for the second time in their history. But, England were more clinical as they managed a five-wicket victory.

Pakistan bowlers performed well in that game as they managed to take the game until the 19th over. Meanwhile, their bowlers made headlines throughout the tournament only. Now, a video has gone viral where Naseem Shah got a heroic reception after reaching Pakistan airport along with other teammates.

Here is the shared video:

Naseem Shah failed to take any wickets in the final after conceding 30 runs in four overs against England

Speaking of the video, all Pakistan players were seen in the Pakistan airport as they reached home after the World Cup final loss. There, Naseem Shah was seen also and when fans got to see him, they started to chant: “Sher aa gaya Sher.” (“Lion has come, Lion.”) It showed only how much respect this young pacer has earned in a short period of time in his career.

Speaking of his performance, Naseem Shah failed to take any wickets in the final. He conceded 30 runs in four overs against England. But, in the overall tournament, Shah took three wickets only in seven matches. However, he was a crucial part of the overall bowling unit in Pakistan. Since the Asia Cup 2022, Naseem Shah had impressed everyone with his pace, accuracy, and variations.

As of now, Naseem Shah has played 32 matches for the Men in Green across all three formats. In 13 Tests, he has taken 33 wickets. Shah has taken 10 wickets in three ODIs while has managed 14 wickets in 16 T20Is. In the Asia Cup, he made his T20I debut against arch-rivals India. His performance in that match impressed Babar Azam. Despite losing that match, Babar Azam heaped praises for the pacer. “Naseem Shah is a very young bowler but bowled so well, and showed so much aggression” Azam concluded.
