Indian cricketer, Shubman Gill scored his maiden International century in the third ODI against Zimbabwe on Monday. Gill has been in ominous form with the bat. He was making significant contributions but wasn't able to convert that into big hundreds.

Last month, he missed out on an ODI hundred in the game against the West Indies. Apparently, when Gill was batting on 98, persistent rain forced the Indian innings to end.

When the right-hander finally registered his maiden hundred, former India all-rounder congratulated him. β€œFinally!!! Well played @ShubmanGill u seriously deserved that Ton! Congratulations on your first 100. Many more to come this is just a start.”

Yuvraj Singh advised me to bat deep: Shubman Gill

The 2018 U19 World Cup winner has revealed that before heading to the Southern African country he met Yuvraj Singh. The latter advised him to bat deep as he was batting well. In reply, Gill jokingly said that he wasn't be able to hit a century. The 2007 20-20 World Cup winner told the young prodigy not to worry about it.

β€œI just met him before coming to Zimbabwe and he told me that I was batting well. He advised me to bat deep if I get set. I was telling him ke 100 nahi aa raha (I am not getting 100). He told me not to worry, it will come.”

The 22-year-old isn't part of the team for the upcoming Asia Cup in the UAE. The tournament will start on August 27 and the team will play their first game against Pakistan on the next day in Dubai. It will be interesting to see when Gill will play next for the Men in Blue.
