Ashes 2023 has come to an interesting point as England keep their hopes alive in the five-match series with a win in the third Test at the Headingley in Leeds. The three lions defeated Australia by a close margin of three wickets to register their first win in the series against the visitors.
Apart from that, England fans are on the receiving end of trolls and criticism on social media for their attitude. English fans booed the former Australian skipper and the batting superstar, Steve Smith in his 100th Test match. Later on, another section of cricket fans took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and trolled the England fanbase for their attitude towards a veteran cricketer like Steve Smith.
Here’s how fans reacted:
Our crowd is the worst. Inko sirf pungiya bajana aur qamar matkana aata hai.

An action-packed Ashes Test goes England's way
Speaking of the action of the recently-concluded Headingley Test in Leeds, England won the toss and asked Australia to bat first. Batting first, the Aussies posted a total of 263 runs courtesy of Mitchell Marsh’s special Ashes century as he scored 118 runs with a strike rate of 100. He smashed 17 fours and 4 sixes in his knock. The star England pacer Mark Wood claimed a five-wicket haul in the first innings for England.
While bowling after scoring 263 runs in the first innings, the visitors managed to get England all out on the score of 237 runs to keep a lead of 26 runs after the end of the first innings. But England's bowling attack had some other plans and they bundled up Pat Cummins’ men on the score of 224 runs in the second innings.
Later on, England chased down the target of 251 runs losing seven wickets and won the match by a close margin of three wickets to keep their hopes alive in the tournament.
Now, both teams will lock horns in the fourth of the five-match Test series at Old Trafford in Manchester from Wednesday, the 19th of July later this month. Currently, Australia are leading the series by a margin of 2-1 with two straight wins in the first two Tests at Edgbaston and Lord’s.
