Trent Rockets and London Spirit locked horns at the Trent Bridge in the 20th game of The Hundred Men's 2022 competition. The home team (Rockets) won the toss and elected to bowl first. Their decision to be right as they bowled out the opposition on 122 runs in 93 balls. Talking about London's batting, eight batters failed to cross the double-digit mark.

Batter such as Daniel-Bell Drummond (24), Ben McDermott (30), and skipper Eoin Morgan (27) could only cross the double-digit mark. Talking about the Rockets' bowling, Rashid Khan was the star for the team with three wickets for 25 runs. This was his first game of the tournament as he was playing for his national side, Afghanistan in the series against Ireland. Apart from him, the likes of Luke Wood, Sam Cook, and Samit Patel took two wickets each.

Trent Rockets chased down the target with ease

In reply, the Yellow brigade chased down the target with ease. However, they had a poor start in the beginning. Dawid Malan (0) bagged a diamond duck as he was run without facing a ball on the first ball of the innings. His opening partner, Alex Hales (6) was caught at mid-on by Kieron Pollard off Nathan Ellis.

On 21/2, the likes of Colin Munro and Tom Kohler-Cadmore stitched a partnership of 85 runs in 51 balls. Cadmore scored 41 ff 28 balls including three sixes before being caught at midwicket by Ellis off Luke Wood. On the other hand, Munro scored an unbeaten 67 off 37 balls including six fours and four sixes. The team chased down the target in just 79 balls and with six wickets in hand.

The Spirit's bowlers had no chance in front of Munro and Cadmore. With this win, the Nottingham-based team has moved to the top spot in the points table. On the other hand, the Middlesex-based team has moved down to the second spot for the first time in the season. Also, this is their first defeat in the tournament.
