'That’s that from Ireland tour!' - Fans react as India win three-match T20I series by 2-0 as third T20I called off due to rain

Now, the full-string Team India under the captaincy of regular skipper Rohit Sharma will be in action in the upcoming Asia Cup 2023.

India won the three-match T20I series against Ireland by 2-0 after the third and last T20I of the series got called off due to rain. The match ended without a ball being bowled as both captains shared formal handshakes after the official declaration of the call-off. The Men in Blue’s skipper and star pace spearhead, Jasprit Bumrah won the Player of the Series award for his brilliant bowling in the first two matches. He scalped a total of 4 wickets in two matches he played.

Both the skippers also spoke after the match in the post-match presentation. Bumrah called it quite frustrating to wait so long for the start of the match.

"It was frustrating waiting for a game to happen. This was something we did not see coming because the weather was fine earlier. It's been a lot of fun (captaining) and an honour captaining them. They were enthusiastic and eager even when rain was around. (Wanting to captain) I don't think about that When you get a chance to captain your side, you always take it. As a cricketer you always enjoy responsibility. (Injury issues...) All good no complaints,” said Bumrah during the post-match presentation.

"A lot of positives but it's about finishing those games." - Ireland skipper Paul Stirling

Apart from that, Ireland skipper Paul Stirling also spoke about the team’s performance and called it a period of good cricket but just in patches. He also stated the positives for the Irish team from this three-match T20I series against India.

"Periods of good cricket... in patches. A lot of positives but it's about finishing those games. India always gives high-quality good cricket when they come here. (Competition for places in Ireland side) Would've been good to get a game today and give a few fresh faces a chance. The journey towards the T20 World Cup continues. It’s a build-up for 10 months,” said Stirling during the post-match presentation.

The Indian cricket fans also took to X to come up with a lot of praising reactions for Team India after they won the series without losing any match under the first series of Jasprit Bumrah as captain. Fans also appreciated the performances of the youngsters including the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rinku Singh.
