Jasprit Bumrah claimed his first series win as captain on Sunday (August 20) after a young Indian team comfortably beat Ireland by 33 runs in the second T20 International in Dublin. Having won the first match by two runs via the DLS method, India now leads the three-match series 2-0. Speaking after the 2nd T20I, skipper Bumrah shared a message for Team India youngsters, saying that expectations are a barrier to fulfilling your true potential.

The Ireland series was a comeback for India's premier pacer who was away from cricket action for a while due to injury. Bumrah, who has established himself as one of the best fast bowlers in the world, said breaking into the Indian team is difficult and if you play with expectations, it puts pressure on yourself. He added that a player does not do 100 per cent justice when playing with so many expectations.

“It is very pleasing. It is tough to pick an XI. It’s a great headache to have. Everyone is eager. Everyone is confident. All of us wanted to play for India. Eventually, everyone has to work their way up. If you play with a baggage of expectation, you are under pressure. You have to keep those expectations aside. You are not doing yourself 100 percent justice if you are playing with so many expectations," Bumrah said at the post-match presentation of the second match.

I was very confident and tried to stay calm: Rinku Singh

After getting thrashed by West Indies in the five-match T20I series, it was important for the Men in Blue to bounce back. While Tilak Varma, who made his international debut on the last tour, disappointed in the first two matches against Ireland, Rinku Singh announced his arrival in style. The Kolkata Knight Riders star batter played a blazing knock of 21-ball-38 to help India post a competitive total (185/5).

Speaking after winning the Player of the Match award, Rinku said: I am feeling very good. I was trying to do what I have done in the IPL. I was very confident and tried to stay calm. I listen to the captain (smiles). I am feeling very nice. I have been playing for 10 years. All my efforts have born fruition. I am happy to get the Man of the Match award in my first game.
