Cristiano Ronaldo is known as one of the big superstars in Football. Currently, he plays for the English club, Manchester United. But, he got involved in an unwanted incident during their last match against Tottenham Hotspurs at Old Trafford. In that match, the Red Devils managed to defeat Spurs with a scoreline of 2-0. But, Cristiano Ronaldo was not happy as he did not get a minute in the match.
In the 89th minute, Cristiano Ronaldo left the bench and walked down the tunnel. Seeing the Portuguese Superstar with such an action, fans were not happy. They came up with a clear message that the club needs to take an action against the player as no one is bigger than the club itself.
"Cristiano will not be part of the Manchester United squad for this Saturday's game against Chelsea.” - Official Club Statement
On 20 October 2022, Manchester United shared an official statement on the Portuguese superstar. It read: "Cristiano will not be part of the Manchester United squad for this Saturday's game against Chelsea. The rest of the squad is fully focused on preparing for that fixture." So, Ronaldo will not be part of the team in their next match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. However, after this decision, Cristiano Ronaldo came up with an apology post on his social media platforms. He wrote: “I've always tried to set the example myself for the youngsters that grew in all the teams that I've represented. Unfortunately, that's not always possible and sometimes the heat of the moment gets the best of us. Right now, I just feel that I have to keep working hard in Carrington, support my teammates and be ready for everything in any given game."
Further, he added: "Giving in to the pressure is not an option. It never was. This is Manchester United, and united we must stand. Soon we'll be together again." But, despite such a post, fans seemed to be unhappy with the player. Meanwhile, they came up and showed support to the club and manager, Erik ten Hag for taking such a bold decision. Even, numbers have shown that this season, Manchester United have played better without Ronaldo than with Ronaldo. So, fans came out to demand the exit of Cristiano Ronaldo in or before the next transfer window opens in January 2023.
Here is how fans have reacted to the whole incident related to Cristiano Ronaldo:
Cristiano Ronaldo is a silly goat who was only brought back to Man Utd out of nostalgia, the aging diva must go https://t.co/mWNPQ4AXOx

Did you check the news that’s coming out. He refused to go on? No player is bigger than the club or the team. Spoilt brat tactics shouldn’t be tolerated and his actions only tarnish his fantastic Man Utd legacy.

Why is he now out of the team? He should sub himself

Tell me a club who was willing to take him in the first place. EtH had Ronaldo in his plans. Ronaldo just couldn't deliver. And to top it all, such breaches.

And irrespective, we're happy as a club. No player is bigger than the club. Not even Ronaldo. He'll leave in Jan mostly.
Ten hag is just showing that no player is bigger than the club!!

18 days later and everything he said to the exact word came out true. The only one who says things as they should be said and doesn’t adopt the so called ‘right way to act’ idea that other pundits do. pic.twitter.com/DM6WfXU4KJ
