Bangalore haven't really been at their best in the recent past. They lost their second consecutive game of the Indian T20 league 2022 on Tuesday. The 2016-finalists lost their recent game to Rajasthan by 29 runs.
It is to be noted that Bangalore did have the advantage during the first innings as they reduced Rajasthan to 68-4. However, a sensational knock by Riyan Parag ensured that the 2008-champions reach a respectable total. He ended up scoring a brilliant 56 from 31 balls. His knock consisted of three fours and four sixes.
However, it is to be noted that he was dropped on 32. It was during the second ball of the 19th over when he got a life. After Parag mistimed the ball, it went straight up, only for Wanindu Hasaranga to drop an absolute sitter. The ball popped out of his hands. This made a huge difference as the 20-year-old scored some handy runs towards the end of the innings.
This turned out to be a crucial point in the game as it shifted the momentum towards the Rajasthan-based franchise. Bangalore's skipper Faf du Plessis highlighted the same during the post-match presentation. He stated that they gave 20 runs too many.
"It's pretty similar to the previous game we played, there is a little bit of inconsistent bounce. We gave 20 runs too many and the dropped catch cost us 25. 140 was a par score on that pitch. That's the thing we need to fix
He also backed Virat Kohli to come good. Faf was hopeful of the batting maestro regaining his lost form. Kohli was dismissed after scoring a 10-ball nine on Tuesday.
"Trying to get the best out of him
