Fab 4

Former India cricketer turned analyst Aakash Chopra feels that India star batter Virat Kohli and Australia opener David Warner are no longer part of the Fab Four in Test cricket. The former India opener further claims that the Fab three are the only stars left in international cricket at this point.

The Fab Four represent the four dominant Test cricketers during the previous ten years. They are Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, Joe Root, and Steve Smith. Notably, when it comes to Test cricket, even Australia's top-order batter, David Warner, is a powerful batter. Considering their remarkable achievements, these players have been dominating Test cricket since the year 2015 and producing a lot of runs.

In the same vein, Aakash Chopra said that the 34-year-old Virat Kohli is unlikely to remain a part of the Fab Four after 2020. The right-handed batter's achievements prior to and following 2020 were additionally evaluated by a leading commentator on his YouTube channel, Cricket Ki Chaupal. “Kane and Joe Root, no question about it. Steve Smith, averaging 50 with six hundreds, no question about him. But David Warner and Virat Kohli, at this point in time, they are not a part of Fab 4. There's no Fab 4 right now, there's Fab 3,” Chopra said on his official YouTube channel, Cricket Ki Chaupal.

Kohli might actually come back but I'm not sure about Warner: Chopra

Former India cricketer turned commentator further emphasized that Australia dashing batter David Warner was not too far behind the "Fab Four Between 2014 and 2019." Notably, in 57 matches over that period, the star opener produced 5196 runs, averaging 50.94. “Joe Root, Kane Williamson, and Steve Smith are there, but Virat Kohli has slipped out of that list, and so has Warner. Kohli might actually come back but I'm not sure about Warner. The latter's Test career, I think, is coming to an end,” Chopra concluded.
