The intense environment of any match between Pakistan and Afghanistan is new to none. A similar sort of incident happened just after the conclusion of the second ODI of the recently concluded three-match ODI series between both teams. The match ended in a nail-biting thriller as the Men in Green won it by only one wicket, the barest of all the margins.

The Afghan players were seen losing their calm after the match and furthermore, the media reports learned that they also abused the Pakistan players at the end of the match.

A report in Pakistan-based media outlet, Samaa TV, learned that Afghanistan pacer Fareed Ahmad reportedly abused the Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and star opener Imam-ul-Haq. The incident is reported to have happened at the time when both the teams were exchanging the customary handshakes following the conclusion of the match.

“Afghanistan bowler Fareed Ahmad abused Babar Azam and Imam Ul Haq at the end of the second ODI. Afghanistan's coaches, Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi then apologized to Babar. Shaheen Afridi was also furious after the Shadab Khan mankad dismissal, but the team management calmed him down,” wrote a Pakistan-based sports journalist while quoting a report by Samaa TV.

Pakistan whitewashed Afghanistan by 3-0

Talking about cricket, Pakistan and Afghanistan locked horns in the last and third ODI of the three-match series in Colombo on Saturday, August 26. Pakistan skipper Babar Azam won the flip of the coin and decided to bat first. On the back of the half-centuries from skipper himself (60 runs) and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan (67 runs), Pakistan posted a total of 268 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.

While chasing the target, the Afghanistan batting lineup couldn’t survive against the mighty bowling attack of the men in green. They got bundled up only on the score of 209 runs and lost the match by 59 runs. Babar Azam’s men managed to register a clean sweep in the three-match series; they have also become the World No. team in the ODI format.
