Babar Azam is currently busy playing for Pakistan in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022. However, the Pakistan skipper had a tough start to the tournament as they have lost two matches out of their three. Even, as an individual batter, Babar Azam has failed to contribute significantly in this ongoing tournament.

However, Pakistani fans became shocked after Zimbabwe defeated the Men in Green. After that humiliating loss, many former cricketers have criticized Babar Azam and his decisions regarding the team selection. Now, Gautam Gambhir came up and called out the Pakistani skipper as ‘Selfish’ for his recent decision as the captain.

“This is called selfishness; as a captain, it is easy to be selfish.” - Gautam Gambhir on Babar Azam

During the commentary of Pakistan's match vs Netherlands, Gautam Gambhir criticized the Pakistani skipper. He said: "In my opinion, first, you think about your team instead of yourself; if nothing goes according to your plan, you should have sent Fakhar Zaman up the batting order. This is called selfishness; as a captain, it is easy to be selfish.”

“It is easy for Babar and Rizwan to open the innings for Pakistan and create so many records. If you want to be a leader, you have to think about your team" Gautam Gambhir added. Many former cricketers have suggested Babar Azam bat in the middle order. Even, they called to include Fakhar Zaman as an opener instead of using him as the number three. As a batter also, Babar Azam has been feeling the heat in the ongoing tournament.

In three matches so far, Babar has scored only eight runs only. Against arch-rivals India, he managed a golden duck only. So, fans are in worry after seeing such a poor run of form from this star batter. Speaking about Pakistan’s last match in the World Cup, the Netherlands scored 91 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Pakistan managed to win the game by six wickets with 6.1 overs to spare. Babar Azam only managed four runs off five balls in that match.
