Mumbai Indians batter Tilak Varma has been a young batting sensation in franchise cricket. The left-hander batter has received his maiden India call for the T20Is against West Indies following his consistent performances in the last two seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Ahead of his India debut, the Hyderabad-based batter's father has revealed a story about Rohit Sharma and his wife Ritika Sajdeh. Apparently, the couple visited Varma’s house for dinner. In a recent interview with Sakshi.com how Ritika Sajdeh won their hearts with her generosity.

The father stated, "Rohit Sharma and Ritika visited our house earlier. Ritika was sitting on the floor. I asked her to sit on the bench, but she said if I sit on the bench, it’ll be your house. If I sit on the floor, it’ll be our house. They both were very kind."

The southpaw stated, "I’ve spoken a lot to Sachin sir, Rohit bhai and Virat sir. The main thing they say is that when your subconscious mind is in the right place, you will do well. They tell me to visualise how I will bat even when I am in the hotel room. That is the sort of mindset I’m working on."

Team India is currently engaged in a two-match Test series against the Windies. India is up 1-0 and will be hoping for a clean sweep of the hosts in the game's longest format. Tilak Varma, who received his first India call-up for the five-match T20I series, which begins on 3 August after the completion of the ODIs, has arrived in the Caribbean alongside Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, and Umran Malik. With five matches remaining in the series, Tilak Varma may get his chance to make his long-awaited debut for Team India.
