Trent Boult is unarguably one of the best bowlers of this generation. When it comes to the shortest format of the game, his USP is to bowl well during the powerplay overs. Over the years, he has emerged as one of the best new-ball bowlers in T20s.
Thus, he has been a regular face in the Indian T20 league as well. He is representing Rajasthan in the 15th edition of the league. So far, he has picked eight wickets in eight games at an average of 32.13 in the 2022 edition so far. As far as his overall numbers in the cash-rich league are concerned, he has picked 84 wickets in 70 games.
While speaking to ESPNcricinfo, Boult was asked which Indian batter played him the best. To which, he said Karun Nair. Although Boult hasn't bowled to the Indian batter in International cricket or the Indian T20 league, the Kiwi pacer stated that Nair plays him really well whenever they play in the net sessions.
"I haven't bowled Karun Nair in a game, but he has the ability to put any kind of ball I throw to him at the nets. So, at the moment, I would say Karun Nair," Boult. It is to be noted that Nair last played an international game in 2017. He has played seven Tests and two ODIs for India.
One of his biggest achievements includes a triple century. He became only the second Indian batter after Virender Sehwag to score the same. As for his Indian T20 league career, the 30-year-old has played 75 games. He has scored 1483 runs at an average and strike rate of 23.92 and 128.07 respectively. This includes the ten fifties as well.
It was Rajasthan who acquired his services during the mega auction. Thus, he and Boult are teammates, and this is when the pacer and Nair faced each other in the nets. The batter has played two games for the Rajasthan-based franchise in the 2022 edition so far. Thus, it will be exciting to see if he does get a chance to feature in their XI once again in the tournament.
