The young Mumbai Indians bowling all-rounder and former legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar’s son, Arjun Tendulkar recently made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League 2023. During a match against Kolkata Knight Riders. Since then, he has played four matches so far for the five-time champions.
Arjun has scalped three wickets so far with bowling with a brilliant spell in the last match against Gujarat Titans as he scalped a wicket by conceding only 9 runs in two overs. Although his pace has also been a big point of concern and the center of discussion among fans and cricket experts on various platforms.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai Indians bowling coach and former legendary New Zealand pacer, Shane Bond has come up with a recent statement hinting at working on increasing Tendulkar Jr’s pace in the further part of the tournament.
“He did well today, obviously after what happened in the last game. It's never easy to step out onto the ground that is a Colosseum with a big crowd. We will work on increasing his pace, but he did all that was asked of him today,” said Bond after Mumbai’s 55-run defeat against Gujarat Titans in the last match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
It’s disappointing when we can’t distinguish plans - Shane Bond
“It’s a combination of things. We’re not executing what we need to. We’ve got pretty simple plans. Watch how we bowled in an area. We got hit and immediately resorted to some changes. It’s disappointing when we can’t distinguish plans when we are on the back foot during difficult run chases,” he added later.
Although, this statement from the MI bowling coach came up as an opportunity for a section of the Indian cricket fans; they immediately took to Twitter to come up with some trolling remarks and reactions for Arjun Tendulkar.
Here's how fans reacted:
