In a good piece of news for Team India and the Indian cricket fans, skipper Rohit Sharma has passed the Yo-Yo Test and is completely ready for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. Apart from Rohit, former skipper Virat Kohli and star all-rounder Hardik Pandya have also passed the Yo-Yo Test as they get ready for the continental championship.

Earlier this week, skipper Sharma also addressed a press conference, alongside chief selector Ajit Agarkar, in the wake of India’s squad announcement for the 16th edition of the Asia Cup. He spoke about the batting order concerns of Team India while mentioning the flexibility in the lineup.

“One thing I want in this team is to make sure everyone is okay to bat anywhere. That's one thing we need to keep in mind. You need flexibility, guys who can step up at any position. No one should say, 'I'm good at this position or I'm good at that position'. You want guys to be able to bat anywhere, that's the message conveyed to every individual. Not now, but over the last three years," said Rohit Sharma during the press conference.

"When I said flexibility is important, it's not like I'm implying send the opener at No. 7 or open the batting with Hardik Pandya.

"It's not like the opener bats at eight and eight opens." - Rohit Sharma

“In the last four-five years if you look, the opener has opened, No. 3 has batted at three, KL has batted five, Hardik six, and Jadeja seven. Four and five, sometimes if they move up and down, there's no problem. That much flexibility is important. Our position too when we came in, we batted up and down, I'm talking of that flexibility. It's not like the opener bats at eight and eight opens, we don't do such mad things. A little bit of flexibility up and down is needed in a team,” he added.

Coming back to The Yo-Yo Test of captain Rohit Sharma, it attracted the eyeballs on social media. The fans questioned the legitimacy of Rohit’s test as his fitness has been a big point of discussion for the last couple of years.
