On 17 November 2022, England took Australia in the first ODI of the three-match ODI series in Adelaide. England came up to this series after becoming the 20-20 World Cup champion. On the other hand, Australia got knocked out early in that tournament from the group stage. So, keeping aim at the upcoming 2023 50-over format World Cup, this series is crucial for both sides.
However, Australia won the toss and asked England to bat first. But, during England’s innings, Ashton Agar came up with some fantastic efforts on the field. His brilliant efforts left fans spellbound as the video went viral instantly.

Ashton Agar did not take wickets but got involved in two catches and one run-out against England
Speaking of the video, the incident took place during the 45th over of that innings. For England, Dawid Malan was batting along with David Willey. For the Aussies, the skipper Pat Cummins was bowling. On the last delivery of that over, Cummins bowled a short delivery which Malan pulled to the leg side.
Agar was standing at the boundary line. But, he pulled off an astonishing save. Agar jumped up at full stretch with the left hand. Then, he dived over the rope and flicked it back behind it with control to keep it to one. Fans went crazy seeing such an outrageous save from the players. However, in the match, Agar failed to take any wickets. He conceded 62 runs in his 10 overs, at an economy of 6.20.
But, he got involved in two catches and one run-out in the first ODI. Speaking of the match, England scored 287 runs for nine wickets in 50 overs. Dawid Malan scored 134 runs off 128 balls, including 12 fours and four sixes. David Willey also came up with an important 34* runs off 40 balls, including three fours. For Australia, Cummins took three wickets for 62 runs in his 10 overs. Adam Zampa also took three wickets for 55 runs in his 10 overs.
