On 2 January 2023, Pakistan locked horns with New Zealand for the second game of the ongoing Test series in Karachi. The series opener ended in a stalemate after fighting for a result for five days. So, both teams were looking to win this match. Especially, Babar Azam was looking for a winning start in this Test after failing to win a single Test at home in 2022.
Speaking of the match, the Kiwi skipper Tim Southee won the toss and opted to bat first. Both openers Tom Latham and Devon Conway made a great start to the innings. But, by the end of day one, Pakistan managed to take six wickets for 309 runs in 90 overs. Now, a video has gone viral where Babar Azam was seen dancing at the slip during an over.

Babar Azam was the highest run-scorer in Tests in 2022
Speaking of the video, the incident took place during the 81st over of New Zealand’s innings. Tom Blundell was batting while Agha Salman was bowling. On the second delivery of that over, Blundell whipped it to midwicket for no run. Then, Babar was seen dancing at the slip beside Sarfaraz Ahmed. Speaking about the Pakistan skipper, he was the highest run-scorer in Tests in 2022.
Babar scored 1184 runs in 17 innings, at an average of 69.64. He also smashed four centuries and seven fifties. In the last match also, Babar scored 161 runs and 14 runs in two innings respectively. But, despite such tremendous form with the bat, he has failed miserably to lead the Men in green to a single victory at home in seven Tests in the last year.
So, fans have criticized the Pakistan skipper based on his recent captaincy show. Speaking of the ongoing match, the Kiwis were cruising until the end of the second session. They scored 226 runs for one wicket in 58 overs. Tom Latham scored 71 runs off 100 balls. Devon Conway kicked off 2023 with a century as he scored 122 runs off 191 balls. Finally, Babar Azam and his men ended the day on a high note as New Zealand scored 309 runs for six wickets in 90 overs. Agha Salman took three wickets for 55 runs in 20 overs.
