The SA20 is ongoing and the teams are giving it their all to win the title in the inaugural edition of the highly competitive tournament. On January 21, Saturday, Joburg Super Kings competed against Sunrisers Eastern Cape and it was the Faf du Plessis-led team who won the game, chasing down the target of 128 with 5 wickets to spare.
While the Super Kings’ win was one of the special moments from the game, Brian Lara, the West Indies legend and the head coach of the Eastern Cape team joining the St George’s band and vibing to their music at the stands was one of the highlights of the game. The social media account of the franchise shared the video on the internet and as one could expect, it went viral.

It's important to get a close game like that: Faf du Plessis
To add more to the match, it was du Plessis who won the toss and elected to field first and the defeat at the toss for the Sunrisers backfired as they got off to a shaky start with Adam Rossington fighting at the other end. As far as the first innings is concerned, Rossington top-scored with the bat with his quickfire 40 and the team was bundled out for 127 on the back of four-fors from Aaron Phangiso and Gerald Coetzee.
The skipper du Plessis and Leus du Plooy ensured that the team stayed in the race during the chase and eventually won the game for the Super Kings with their 37 and 47 respectively. Post the conclusion of the game, du Plessis said that it was an important win for the game, given that they had a poor start to the tournament.
“Pretty nervous. It's important to get a close game like that. From a batting point of view, the guys will have a huge confidence. We were excellent, the way we bowled was unbelievable. Our fielding was excellent. I should have gone through and made sure to take it home,” du Plessis was quoted as saying in the post-match presentation.
“It surprised us. It was slow and low, there was a little bit of grip in both the innings. As a bowling unit, we are doing the right things. Today is a huge step in the right direction for our batting line-up,” he added.
