A charismatic leader, whetted wicket-guardian, and finishing maestro, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is all in one, a nightmare for opposition teams. However, he earned the nickname 'Captain Cool' for his ability to maintain calm and composure in high-pressure moments. For his unparalleled heroics on the field for Team India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) over the years and his admirable personality, the 42-year-old has won a huge fan following across the globe.

However, a recent video doing the rounds on social media proves that you don't need to understand the game to love Dhoni. The former Indian captain possesses a certain kind of aura that even small children admire. On Rakshabandhan day (Wednesday, August 30), the legendary cricketer spent some time with two little fans.

In a video that has gone viral, Dhoni can be seen sitting near two adorable fans and engaging in some conversation with them. He gave his autograph on a small cricket bat before clicking pictures with them. The caption of the viral video read, "MS Dhoni giving autographs to cute little fans".

Will we see Dhoni in yellow jersey in IPL 2024?

Dhoni was last seen on the cricket field in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 final, where the Ranchi-born cricketer led CSK to their fifth title. Fans didn't get to see those towering sixes off his bat, but his wicket-keeping and mastermind were key to their success. After retiring from international cricket in 2020, the right-hander is continuing his cricket career by playing in IPL. However, during the 2023 season, there were rumours that we won't see Dhoni as a player in the next edition, but the man himself has hinted that he will be back for his lovely fans in the 2024 season.

"If you circumstantially see, it's the best time to announce the retirement. The easy thing for me to say is thank you and retire. But the hard thing to do is to work hard for nine months and try to play one more IPL season. The body has to hold up. But the amount of love I have received from CSK fans, it would be a gift for them to play one more season. The way they've shown their love and emotion, it's something I need to do for them," Dhoni said after the 2023 IPL final.
