Meanwhile, in the third game of the tournament against Asia Lions, the left-hander hit three consecutive sixes against Tillakaratne Dilshan. Gayle Storm failed to win the game for World Giants against Asia Lions
In the 10-over game, the Lions batted first after losing the toss. The Asian side had a poor start as Upul Tharanga was cleaned up by Ricardo Poweell. Former Sri Lanka all-rounder, Thisara Perera was the second wicket to fall to Paul Collingwood with 31 runs on the board. However, former Pakistan and Sri Lanka skippers, Misbah-ul-Haq and Tillakaratne Dilshan helped the team reach 99/3 at the end of the innings.
The former scored 44 not out of just 19 balls four fours and three sixes. In reply, the Giants had a great start with Chris Gayle hitting three sixes in the fourth over of the innings. However, they fell short of 35 runs with no support from the middle-order batters.
