The action in T20 cricket never fails to entertain the audience as they get to witness their favorite stars put on a superb display of cricketing skills on the field. But it’s not always the battle between bat and ball that leave the audience awestruck. Sometimes, it’s also the moments on the pitch between the overs that give the crowd their money’s worth.
A similar incident happened during the 16th match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2022 between Madurai Panthers and Salem Spartans. It was during the first innings of the match that a strange thing was witnessed happening on the pitch.
After the fifth over of the innings, the Panthers were 31/1 when a swarm of insects arrived on the pitch and stopped the play. The ground staff quickly got into action and was seen carrying a bucket full of burning leaves and using the smoke to shoo the insects away. The entire process led to a 23-minute-break before the play resumed again.
The incident went viral on social media as people shared the footage from the match saying they had never seen something like that before.
