Indian seamers have given a dream start in the first game of the three-match T20I series against South Africa at Thiruvananthapuram. The duo of Deepak Chahar and Arshdeep Singh broke the back of the South African batting as they sent half the Proteas side back to the pavilion with just 15 deliveries into the game. The South African batters had no answer to the swing duo as both made the ball dance to their tunes.

The Indian Cricket Board shared the video of the stupendous spell of swing bowling put on display by the incredible duo on Twitter. Watch the video here:

Deepak Chahar started the onslaught in the first over as he clean bowled the Proteas Captain Temba Bavuma with an absolute peach of a delivery. The South African captain was bowled through the gate as he attempted to play the ball through the cover region.

Arshdeep Singh also joined the party as he ran in to bowl the second over of the innings. He got rid of the dangerous Quinton De Kock on the very second ball of the over as the wicketkeeper in an attempt to cut the ball edged it back onto his stumps. Rilee Rossouw also fell victim to a lethal outswinger from the seamer in the same over edging it straight into the gloves of Rishabh Pant behind the stumps.

Roussouw made the long walk back to the pavilion with a golden duck. Arshdeep further broke the back of the South African batting line-up by also sending the swashbuckling David Miller back to the pavilion for a golden duck as well. All three scalps were picked in the second over with South Africa left struggling at 8/4 after two overs.

Chahar continued to wreak havoc in the third over of the innings by getting rid of Tristan Stubbs who edged a cut shot straight to the third man. Stubbs became the third batter to be dismissed for a golden duck in the innings with South Africa falling deeper into the pit on the score of 9/5 after 2.3 overs.

Having got off to a wonderful start in the game, the ‘Men in Blue’ will look to clinch the victory in the first T20I quickly tonight and go 1-0 up in the series.
