After the first T20I game between Ireland and India, the fans of the visiting side were upset not to see Sanju Samson getting a chance. After all, he was ignored for the South Africa series despite scoring 458 runs in 17 games during the Indian T20 League 2022. Samson was named in the Indian squad for the two-match series against Ireland. However, he didn't get the opportunity in the first game.
This triggered the fans as they started asking what the Kerala player needed to do to get more chances. During the first match, opening batter Ruturaj Gaikwad had a niggle in his calf muscle which is why he didn't bat. Ahead of the second game, he was ruled out. This paved way for Rajasthan skipper in the cash-rich league to play. After the toss, stand-in skipper Hardik Pandya announced that the 27-year-old will play.
After listening to this, the Indian fans at The Village, Malahide in Dublin got excited and started cheering heavily. Reacting to this, the commentator and Pandya acknowledged the crowds' happiness, and the latter cheekily said 'I think they like it. The video was uploaded on Twitter by Doordarshan Sports.
