The International League T20 (ILT20) has attracted more fans than expected and with every passing game, the tournament is growing in stature as more fans are engaging in the contest. On January 21, Saturday, MI Emirates squared off against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders and it was the former who won the game chasing down the target of 171 with 5 wickets to spare.

During the first innings, in the first ball of the second over from Aghanistan cricketer Fazalhaq Farooqi, the pacer lost his grip and eventually, the ball went over the batter with the umpire signalling a four and calling it a no-ball. The video of the same was widely shared on the internet and the fans, who kept sharing the clip, claimed that it was a funny moment from a thrilling game.

That is the nature of T20 cricket: Kieron Pollard

As far as the match is concerned, after being forced to bat first, the Knight Riders put on 170 runs on the board at the end of the first innings, on the back of a quickfire 65 from Dhananjaya de Silva and an unbeaten 28 from skipper and West Indies star spinner Sunil Narine.

Much to the delight of the fans, the Emirates camp bounced back with the bat with Andre Fletcher top-scoring with the bat with his well-crafter 53 off 43 balls. Although Pollard played a helping hand with 31 runs, it was Najibullah Zadran who provided the finishing touch with his 23-ball 31 as they pulled off a win in the last ball of the match.

“That is the nature of T20 cricket. That is what fans and viewers want to see, a close game. Obviously DJ was there, he's an experienced campaigner and we know what Najibullah can do, so my money was on my team (at the start of the last over). It was a good game,” Pollard was quoted as saying in the post-match presentation.

“We weren't at our best with the ball, we tried to get wickets rather than trying to contain them but that's why you have two innings and our batters bailed us out. We can do better as a bowling and fielding team. You have to improve every time you get a chance and that is the chat we have in the dressing room,” he added.
