On 8 October 2022, Pakistan locked horns with New Zealand in Christchurch. It was the second match of the ongoing tri-series. On 7 October, Pakistan won the tournament opener against Bangladesh by 21 runs. Hence, Pakistan were looking to continue its winning momentum ahead of the match against the Kiwis.
On the other hand, New Zealand were looking to kick off the tournament with a win in their home condition. Therefore, ahead of the 20-20 World Cup, the stage was set for an enthralling battle between the Blackcaps and the Men in Green. But, Pakistan’s Haris Rauf got involved in a brain fade moment while trying to catch a ball at the boundary. The video went viral all over the internet as fans found it funny.

Haris Rauf took one wicket for 38 runs in four overs against Bangladesh
Speaking of the video, the incident took place in the 10th over. For Pakistan, Shadab Khan came up to bowl. For the Kiwis, Conway and Williamson were batting as they were at 62 runs for one wicket in nine overs. In the first delivery of that over, Conway came down the track and hit the ball hard.
Haris Rauf was at the boundary rope and he tried to catch that ball. But, he ended up inside the boundary rope and failed to throw the ball before that. It was a complete brain fade moment for the Pakistan pacer as he looked livid with himself with that effort.
Speaking of the match, New Zealand won the toss and they elected to bat first. However, they scored only 147 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Devon Conway scored 36 runs off 35 balls along with Willamson’s 31 runs. Mark Chapman scored 32 runs off 16 balls, including three fours and two sixes. For Pakistan, Haris Rauf took three wickets for 28 runs in four overs. Even, in the last match against Bangladesh, the Pakistan pacer took one wicket for 38 runs in four overs.
