Ishan Kishan finally made his Test debut after being selected for India's squad for the first Test in Dominica against the West Indies. The West Indies openers were comfortably defeated by India, who were given the assignment to bowl first. R Ashwin struck early to take the wickets of both openers. Following a poor run of batting form, KS Bharat, who had maintained wickets for the Indian squad in the previous five Test matches, including the World Test Championship (WTC) Final, has been benched.

On the opening day of the first Test at Windsor Park in Dominica on Wednesday, Team India comprehensively crushed the West Indies. The hosts were bowled out for 150 after opting to bowl first, with Ravichandran Ashwin taking five wickets. Later in the day, India scored 80 runs without losing a wicket and trailed by only 70 runs.

Virat Bhai, thoda sa seedhe: Ishan Kishan

The Indian wicket-keeper demonstrated his superb wicketkeeping abilities and amused the audience with his antics behind the stumps. The little wicketkeeper-batter can be seen providing field advice to experienced batsman Virat Kohli in a video that has gone popular on social media. The Jharkhand-based cricketer stated, "Virat Bhai, thoda sa seedhe (Virat brother, just little straight)."

He was afterwards heard complementing pacer Mohammed Siraj and spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on their bowling. Notably, wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant is well-known for his antics behind the stumps, as he has been spotted several times cheering up the crowd with his amusing remarks.

The 24-year-old batter provides greater firepower to the top-order batting. He is practically expected to step into the shoes of Rishabh Pant, who used to provide significant value to the Indian middle order with both his gloves and his bat. Coming into the contest with a damaged ego following his omission from the WTC final last month, Ravichandran Ashwin made the finest possible return, as his 33rd five-wicket haul put India in control against a below-par West Indies on the first day of the first Test on Wednesday. Ashwin also justified why he is ranked top in the Test bowlers rankings.
