With only 5 wins in 12 matches, Punjab are currently languishing at number 8 on the points table in the Indian T20 League 2022. Prior to the start of the league, they were counted among the strongest teams this season. However, once again, they have failed to live up to the expectations.

Though they aren’t knocked out of the race for the playoffs yet, chances of making a top-four finish are highly unlikely. Punjab lost their last match against Rajasthan by 6 wickets. Batting first, Punjab notched a formidable score of 189 runs in the first innings.

Jonny Bairstow returned to form with a crucial half-century and this is a big positive for them. Besides, Jitesh Sharma also finished well in the latter half of the innings. However, Punjab couldn’t defend that score down and they would be very disappointed with their bowling performance. Whether will they make any changes in the bowling department in the next match remains to be seen.

Irrespective of the results, Punjab have kept their spirits high off the field. The players are often seen doing fun and enterta their fans by posting videos on social media.

Recently, the franchise uploaded a video on their social media handle where the foreign players could be seen delivering a few iconic dialogues from Bollywood. The video began with Benny Howell trying to mimic actor Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic dialogue, “Bade bade deshon me aisi chhoti chhoti baatein hoti rehti hain, Senorita,” from the movie Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.”

Later, Nathan Ellis joined in. He delivered another SRK’s dialogue, Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost,” from the movie Om Shanti Om.

South African pacer, Kagiso Rabada then appeared. He mimicked Salman Khan’s dialogue, “Ek baar jo maine commitment kardi fir mai khud ki bhi nahi suntan.” From the movie “Wanted”.

The video ended with Odean Smith mimicking Sunny Deol’s dialogue, “Tareekh pe Tareekh, tareekh pe tareekh, tareekh pe tareekh,” from the movie Damini.

Punjab are slated to play their next game against Bangalore on Friday at Brabourne Stadium.
