Legendary footballer and 2022 FIFA World Cup winner Lionel Messi got booed by the Parisian supporters at the Parc des Princes before Paris Saint-(PSG) Germain's Ligue 1 matchup versus Olympique Lyon. When the players were getting introduced at the stadium, the fans started booing when the announcer took Messi's name.

However, many fans around are upset because a video of that incident has gone viral on social media. Interestingly, having boos from his supporters is nothing new for Messi. The same thing occurred before PSG's March 19 Ligue 1 match versus Rennes.

Messi's PSG contract will get expired in the upcoming summer. Although there are some talks about an extension of his contract but nothing has been decided as of yet. Meanwhile, recently, there were some rumors sparked that a trip back to Barcelona could be planned for him. Due to La Liga's wage ceiling regulations, Messi's contract could not be renewed, and he left the team in 2021. He played 778 games with the legendary club and scored 672 goals and dished out 303 assists.

Of course, I would like him to come back: Rafa Yuste

Rafa Yuste, the Barcelona vice president, recently expressed his regret that the Argentine could not continue playing for the Blaugrana. However, he also mentioned that they are still in contact with Messi and trying hard to get him back at Barcelona

"I am still gutted he couldn't continue here. Of course I would like him to come back, because of what he represents on a sporting, social and economic level. We are in contact with (Messi's camp), yes. Beautiful stories should have happy endings, and there is a mutual love between the two parties."

However, Barcelona didn't really miss the legend's departure as the younger players are doing wonders and have become the backbone of the iconic club since Messi left. Although being close to 36 years old, the Argentine is still an important player as he recently guided Argentina to get their hands on the World Cup for the third time. Given that Xavi, a former teammate of Messi's, is the Blaugrana's manager, Messi might be a welcome addition to the group.
