Star England pacer Mark Wood has attracted eyeballs in the cricketing fraternity for his sheer pace and brilliant bowling off late. He made a stunning Test comeback with a five-wicket haul in the third Ashes 2023 Test at the Headingley in Leeds. Apart from cricket on the field, Mark Wood is also known for his funny antics off the field.

He did a similar sort of thing recently during the press conference of England skipper Ben Stokes ahead of the fifth Ashes 2023 Test against Australia. It all happened when Stokes was about to start his interaction with the journalists who were present there in the room. Mark Wood highjacked the microphone and played a song from the recently-released Hollywood movie ‘Barbie’.

The volume of the song gradually started increasing and it drew a burst of laughter among the journalists before Ben Stokes looked back above to address his teammate saying, “Woody,” in a sarcastic tone. The video of this hilarious moment is now making rounds on social media as soon as it was shared by England Cricket from their official Twitter handle.

“As Ben Stokes was sitting down for his pre-match press conference...Mark Wood decided to hijack the microphone and have a bit of fun. Barbie 1-0 Oppenheimer,” wrote England in the caption of their hilarious video tweet.

Notably, the hosts England will take on the Aussies in the upcoming fifth Ashes 2023 Test at the Kennington Oval in London on Thursday, the 27th of July. Currently, the visitors are leading the series by a margin of 2-1 with two straight wins in the first two Tests at the Edgbaston and the Lord’s.

Apart from that, Pat Cummins & co. have also retained the Ashes after the fourth Ashes 2023 Test in Manchester ended in a draw. The Three Lions have failed to win the Ashes for the last consecutive four editions in a row.
