The cricketing fraternity and cricketing history will always record Sunday, September 17 as the day that completely belonged to the star Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj. The Hyderabad speedster completely ripped off the Sri Lankan batting lineup while both teams locked horns in the Asia Cup 2023 final at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo

Siraj claimed 6 wickets at the cost of just 21 runs in 7 overs with 1 maiden, bowling the historic second over in which he scalped 4 wickets, playing a massive role in bundling the hosts at the score of just 50 runs in 15.2 overs. Apart from that, Siraj also won the hearts of the cricket fans and the entire cricket fraternity with his heart-warming gesture off the field.

It all happened when Siraj won the ‘Player of the Match award for his historic and match-defining performance. Just after getting the ‘Player of the Match award, Siraj immediately announced dedicating his cash prize to the groundsmen who worked tirelessly throughout the entire Asia Cup 2023 to ensure the smooth conduct of the tournament amidst the bad weather conditions and rain playing a villain.

“This cash prize goes to the groundsmen because they truly deserve a lot because if they wouldn’t have been here, the tournament wouldn’t have been possible to conduct,” said Siraj to Star Sports’ commentator Ravi Shastri during the post-match presentation.

The video of this moment is now making rounds on social media as soon as it was shared by a user on X.
