The US Open is known to bring a lot of surprising results and the event this season hasn’t disappointed. All the top-seeded players like Daniil Medvedev, Rafael Nadal, Stefanos Tsitsipas and others have already crashed out of the tournament with just Carlos Alcaraz remaining from the top five.

It is natural that many flock to the USA to watch the best Tennis players take to the court and bring out shocking results. The fourth quarterfinal match of the US Open between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz was one such match which showed the class of the two players and brought a high-quality game for the fans.

This match however was intriguing to Indian viewers for another reason altogether. The two most successful captains of the Indian cricket team were in attendance to watch the US Open match between Sinner and Alcaraz.

The video clip posted by Sony Sports Network who has the broadcasting rights for the US Open shows MS Dhoni watching the US Open match sitting alongside the famous chef Vikas Khanna.

As the camera pans forward Kapil Dev, India's first World Cup-winning captain was also seen watching the game. The match between Alcaraz and Sinner went on for 5 hours 15 minutes with the 19-year-old Spaniard coming as the victor. Alcaraz defeated Sinner in a five-set thriller with a scoreline of 6-3, 6-7 (7/9), 6-7 (0/7), 7-5, 6-3.

After the game, an ecstatic Alcaraz said, “Honestly, I still don’t know I did it.”

“I always say that you have to believe in yourself all the time Hope is the last thing that you lose. I just believed in myself and believed in my game,” the 19-year-old continued.

The Spaniard described his performance as the best ever and also lauded his opponent Sinner. “At five hours 15 minutes, from the first ball to the last, there was immense quality from both Jannik and me,” said Alcaraz after the match.
