The nation was on its feet when India beat Australia against all odds during the historic Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21. Voot Select, an OTT streaming platform, and famous filmmaker Neeraj Pandey, have announced their future production, 'Bandon Mein Tha Dum.' This is a documentary about India's historic triumph over Australia in the 2020/21 Test series away from home, which will be released on June 16. Pandey is best known for his biography of Indian cricket great MS Dhoni.
The series will throw light on the emotions experienced by Indian and Australian players as they played and observed history being written. After overcoming all challenges, the Indian team won the Test series by 2-1, and the Border-Gavaskar trophy with their triumph at the Gabba in Brisbane.
Ajinkya Rahane, the captain of the Indian team in the series, posted the trailer for the series on his Instagram handle. "Defeat, injuries and lots of noise all around. But this is the tale of a team that faced all odds together. Bandon Mein Tha Dum is that story! Excited for you to see the struggle behind our story," he wrote in the caption.

Everything in the narrative of "the greatest comeback", according to the film's director, came into place for it to be told. "The human stories in this cricketing fairy tale elevated the series beyond a cricketing audience and created huge euphoria across all segments of the Indian society. The nation was gripped and it was therefore befitting for us to bring the story to the people of India of one of the greatest comebacks in the history of sports and cricket," Pandey was quoted by Republic World.
"Nothing excited me more than retelling this story which went beyond high-quality cricket, hard work, perseverance, determination, commitment, sportsmanship, and decoding the x-factor through the mind of the players which repeated the David Vs Goliath story," Pandey added.
The documentary includes behind-the-scenes footage of Ajinkya Rahane, Ravichandran Ashwin, Rishabh Pant, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Mohammad Siraj, among many more players from both teams. Coaches and journalists who were involved in the historic series are also a part of the documentary.
